PAINTINGS

Marianna Stránská has been painting and drawing since 2013, but since the beginning of the first lockdown in 2020 has she continuously developed the painting medium as another manifestation of her own creative activity. She experiments with watercolours and washed ink on paper, adapting these techniques to canvases using natural and raw pigments, acrylic mediums and oil techniques. Her figurative paintings and drawings explore themes of identity, expressiveness, childhood and its mysteries, and individuality in isolation or situation. Her portraits often depict an ecstasy of faces or figures standing in front of the viewer as freeze frames that capture the intensity of the moment.
